Heavily Obscured

Heavily Obscured

A Heavily Obscured space is one such as Darkness, heavy fog, or dense foliage.

  • While trying to see something in a Heavily Obscured space, you have the Blinded condition with respect to that target. This means:
    • You can't see, and you automatically fail any ability check that requires sight.
    • Attack rolls you make against a target there have Disadvantage.
    • Attack rolls against you have Advantage.
  • Darkness creates a Heavily Obscured space; Dim Light creates a Lightly Obscured space. Senses such as Darkvision, Blindsight, or Truesight can let a creature see in a Heavily Obscured space despite these effects.
