Incapacitated

Incapacitated

A creature that is Incapacitated is unable to act normally and can't take meaningful turns or maintain effort.

While Incapacitated, a creature suffers these effects:

  • Inactive. It can't take any action, Bonus Action, or Reaction.
  • No Concentration. Its Concentration is broken.
  • Speechless. It can't speak.
  • Surprised. If it's Incapacitated when it rolls Initiative, it has Disadvantage on the roll.

Incapacitated doesn't by itself impose movement restrictions, Disadvantage on its attacks (it simply can't attack), or change its AC. It is, however, a component of stronger conditions such as Paralyzed, Petrified, Stunned, and Unconscious, all of which include the Incapacitated effects.
