Short Rest
A Short Rest is a period of at least 1 hour during which a creature does nothing more strenuous than eating, drinking, reading, and tending to wounds.
- Spending Hit Dice: You can spend one or more Hit Dice, up to your remaining total. For each die spent, roll it and add your Constitution modifier, regaining that many Hit Points (minimum 0 per die). You can decide whether to spend more Hit Dice after each roll.
- Hit Dice recovery: You don't regain spent Hit Dice during a Short Rest. You regain some when you finish a Long Rest (up to half your maximum number of Hit Dice, minimum 1).
- Other resources: You regain any feature, spell slot, or trait that recharges on a Short Rest (for example, a Warlock's Pact Magic slots or a Fighter's Second Wind).
