Spellcasting Class Feature

Drawing from your innate magic, you can cast spells. See the rules on spellcasting. The information below details how you use those rules with Sorcerer spells, which appear in the Sorcerer spell list later in the class’s description.

Cantrips. You know four Sorcerer cantrips of your choice. Light, Prestidigitation, Shocking Grasp, and Sorcerous Burst are recommended. Whenever you gain a Sorcerer level, you can replace one of your cantrips from this feature with another Sorcerer cantrip of your choice.

When you reach Sorcerer levels 4 and 10, you learn another Sorcerer cantrip of your choice, as shown in the Cantrips column of the Sorcerer Features table.

Spell Slots. The Sorcerer Features table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your level 1+ spells. You regain all expended slots when you finish a Long Rest.

Prepared Spells of Level 1+. You prepare the list of level 1+ spells that are available for you to cast with this feature. To start, choose two level 1 Sorcerer spells. Burning Hands and Detect Magic are recommended.

The number of spells on your list increases as you gain Sorcerer levels, as shown in the Prepared Spells column of the Sorcerer Features table. Whenever that number increases, choose additional Sorcerer spells until the number of spells on your list matches the number in the Sorcerer Features table. The chosen spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For example, if you’re a level 3 Sorcerer, your list of prepared spells can include six Sorcerer spells of level 1 or 2 in any combination.

If another Sorcerer feature gives you spells that you always have prepared, those spells don’t count against the number of spells you can prepare with this feature, but those spells otherwise count as Sorcerer spells for you.

Changing Your Prepared Spells. Whenever you gain a Sorcerer level, you can replace one spell on your list with another Sorcerer spell for which you have spell slots.

Spellcasting Ability. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your Sorcerer spells.

Spellcasting Focus. You can use an Arcane Focus as a Spellcasting Focus for your Sorcerer spells.

Innate Sorcery Class Feature

An event in your past left an indelible mark on you, infusing you with simmering magic. As a Bonus Action, you can unleash that magic for 1 minute, during which you gain the following benefits:

Magic Initiate (Cleric) Feat

You gain the following benefits.

Two Cantrips. You learn two cantrips of your choice from the Cleric spell list. Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for this feat’s spells (choose when you select this feat).

Level 1 Spell. Choose a level 1 spell from the Cleric spell list. You always have that spell prepared. You can cast it once without a spell slot, and you regain the ability to cast it in that way when you finish a Long Rest. You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have.

Spell Change. Whenever you gain a new level, you can replace one of the spells you chose for this feat with a different spell of the same level from the chosen spell list.

Metamagic Class Feature

Because your magic flows from within, you can alter your spells to suit your needs; you gain two Metamagic options of your choice from “Metamagic Options”. You use the chosen options to temporarily modify spells you cast. To use an option, you must spend the number of Sorcery Points that it costs.

You can use only one Metamagic option on a spell when you cast it unless otherwise noted in one of those options.

Whenever you gain a Sorcerer level, you can replace one of your Metamagic options with one you don’t know. You gain two more options at Sorcerer level 10 and two more at Sorcerer level 17.

Empowered Spell Class Feature

“The world is driven by 2 things: hunger and fear. I know both well. Hunger never rests and I fear it cannot be sated.” Djeera is a sorcerer of the hungering dark. Magic didn’t always plague her so, she once was studying to become a doctor. She was an apprentice to dr. Mondritch in Darrowville. It was not the most desirable post being in a small town as opposed to a large city, but he was quite knowledgeable with good bedside manners. At least that was what she told herself, she should have gone to Gordon Hospital instead of that blundering oaf Olaf Timberton. She gets stuck in the middle of nowhere, just cause she’s not of the right family. Still, after some months something interesting happened that is worthy of publishing if a cure is found. A plague struck, doctor Mondritch and any other doctor could not find a cure for the longest time and many perished. Months past and the deaths became many. He got quite desperate to find a cure, but Djeera had an idea, just an unconventional one. It would require a sacrifice though or 2, so it is far from ideal. One who warps their magic and another as a vessel for the cure. She was working on a method that would eliminate that need for sacrifice, but time was not on her side. Djeera got ill. She had contracted this plague. The dr. used various unconventional methods to help her when it became clear that the conventional methods did not and would not work, the same as with other patients. The divine left him in the dark and he became desperate. He searched other ways, while Djeera headed towards death, so he decided to use Djeera’s method. He would manipulate the divine and infused it with darkness. As he worked on this Djeera was drawing strangled breaths. She had little time and with no time to practice, he tried it on her in first moments of death. It did not seem to work at first. The body transformed as expected, but there was no heartbeat for the first few minutes, then it started beating. Djeera came back, but not as she once was. Darkness clung to her, reacted to her and called to her. However, with the danger she posed she was placed in a room of the sanitorium. With her back to life, the dear doctor was able to create a cure from her blood. He caged her so he could keep producing more. She, however, wanted to sate her hunger. She looked for a way out while he was visiting her to extract blood. After a week he had a large supply and she was feeling weak. The hunger became louder. It was difficult to stop the hunger, it became stronger. The shadows came from the walls and tore the door from the room. She left and the doctor was lucky he wasn’t there. She just left town and left him to his devices. That was how she remembered it, she doesn’t care to remember the mob with their pitch forks. It is far too much like a book she once read and she is not a monster. That is not for another to decide. The dark magic maimed and killed some of the mob, but it didn’t stop that shovel from hitting her head. She was dead again, and this time it would stick. The afterlife had some advantages. The hunger was less and she was no longer so clouded in her mind. The first time since her transformation she could think properly, yet Djeera’s wasn’t worried about the way she changed. She should have been, the result that her magic got twisted was unexpected. Maybe it was due to a remnant of tiefling heritage that reacted, but whatever happened something awakened and it is hungry. Her magic is twisted, now most of healing gift is gone, but in it’s place is something far stronger. There is no point in pursuing being a doctor in the afterlife. Prevention of death seems rather pointless now. She can be so much more than just a doctor anyway. A noble profession for sure, but why be a doctor when you have been given so much power. The trick will be to not give into the hunger and channel it into something that suits her desires. That should be manageable. She will discover the secrets of the dark and vanquish those who thwart her ambitions. She will be a great and fearsome hero and be worshipped by the weak. Master the hunger, before it consumes her. Djeera is fearful at heart and resentful for the injustice she faced in life, but she wants to do good. Doing good will earn some status, create a reputation, which is what matters most. Get in death what she was denied in life. The hunger pushes her forward. She must act, she must master or truly become that what she fears most, a monster and undeserving of being remembered. She won’t be remembered in the world of the living at least not favourably. She died and the credit for the cure will not go to her, only the blame. Therefore her goal is set in the afterlife. This will be done by vanquishing those who hide in the dark, though she may have some trouble leaving her life as a doctor behind. But how could she create a fearsome reputation with a profession so useless in the afterlife?
