🗺️ Getting Started

3 notes

1 Welcome beginner

Welcome to our D&D 5e community server — a persistent, story-driven world where your choices leave marks.

Here's what this server is:

  • Scheduled sessions run by GMs, typically 3–5 hours via voice/video on Discord
  • Text roleplay in between sessions to develop your character on your own time
  • A living world that remembers what the party does — NPCs talk, factions shift, locations change
  • A tight-knit community built around mutual respect and collaborative storytelling

This is an 18+ server that handles mature themes. We operate as a neurodiverse-friendly space — communication, consent, and good faith are core to how we play.

This tutorial covers everything you need. Work through each series in order if you're brand new, or jump straight to a specific topic if you have a question.

2 How the Server Works beginner

This website is your hub for everything outside of live play.

Section What it's for
Sessions Browse upcoming sessions, RSVP, read recaps
Characters View your character sheet and progression history
World Explore locations, active NPCs, and lore entries
Rules This section — everything you need to know

The typical play loop:

  1. A GM posts an upcoming session on the Sessions page
  2. You RSVP with your character
  3. You play the session over Discord voice/video
  4. The GM posts a recap and distributes loot
  5. Characters advance when the campaign milestone is reached

The GM has final say on all rulings at their table. Decisions made in-session are binding — rules disputes get resolved after the scene, not during it.

3 What You Need to Play beginner

Before your first session, make sure you have everything in place:

1. A Discord account All session coordination, announcements, and between-session roleplay happens in our Discord. You must be a member.

2. An approved character Build one following the Character Creation series. Characters must be reviewed before you play.

3. Your character sheet accessible Digital (D&D Beyond, a PDF) or physical — whatever you use, have it open and ready before the session starts.

4. Dice or a roller Physical dice or a virtual roller. Your GM will tell you what's expected at their table.

5. Availability Sessions are scheduled in advance. If you RSVP and can't make it, cancel with at least 24 hours' notice.

6. Familiarity with the basics You don't need to be an expert — but read through the D&D Basics and House Rules series before your first session. The table will thank you.
